when cowards attack
Here is the latest example of the tactics of the Islamofascists:
A siege at a school in south Russia has continued into the night, with armed attackers holding at least 200 people hostage, many of them children.
Several people were said to have died after about 17 men and women, wearing bomb belts, seized the school in North Ossetia on Wednesday morning.
Officials say they are in contact with the gang, Russian media report.
The attackers' demands are said to include the withdrawal of Russia troops from neighbouring Chechnya.
Pupils have reportedly been lined up against the windows to prevent an assault by security services, says the BBC's Moscow correspondent Damian Grammaticas.
The siege comes amid heightened security across the country. A suspected suicide bombing in Moscow on Tuesday night killed 10 people, and last week the mid-air explosions of two passenger planes left 89 dead.
Don't these morons realize what happened the last time they held hostages in Russia? I think it is safe to assume that the Russian police have learned their lesson and won't kill everyone inside by gassing the place this time, but you can bet that they will be just as ruthless with these cowards.
The strategy of the Islamofascists is quite simple: find the weakest element of society and then brutally attack it hoping that civilized society will cower in fear and capitulate to their demands. However, capitulation to this barbarism does not deliver the fruits of peace as the French have recently found out.
I wonder how many of these incidents need to occur in order for the rest of the world, and about 40% of this country, to wake up and actually deal with these thugs like they should be dealt with; a firm, swift fist straight to their collective jaw, repeating over and over until they look like Robert Fisk. So far America, as a population, has been one of the few countries to understand the nature of this threat, but on November 2nd we'll see if America has the stomach to follow through in this brutal fight for our very lives.

On the eve of a Republican National Convention invoking 9/11 symbols, sound bytes and imagery, half (49.3%) of New York City residents and 41% of New York citizens overall say that some of our leaders “knew in advance that attacks were planned on or around September 11, 2001, and that they consciously failed to act,” according to the poll conducted by Zogby International. The poll of New York residents was conducted from Tuesday August 24 through Thursday August 26, 2004. Overall results have a margin of sampling error of +/-3.5.
The poll is the first of its kind conducted in America that surveys attitudes regarding US government complicity in the 9/11 tragedy. Despite the acute legal and political implications of this accusation, nearly 30% of registered Republicans and over 38% of those who described themselves as “very conservative” supported the claim.
The charge found very high support among adults under 30 (62.8%), African-Americans (62.5%), Hispanics (60.1%), Asians (59.4%), and “Born Again” Evangelical Christians (47.9%).
Michael Moore must be so proud.
The hostage takers may not be Chechen.

This would be an interesting and puzzling development if true, however the Asia Times has been known to jump the gun in past. I'll keep my eye in this. Thanks for the link!
