James and I put a lot of time into the design of this blog: it was his first experience with Movable Type, and I'm, well, a perfectionist.

We compared notes on many different sites. James was disappointed to discover that many MT blogs don't seem to employ much customization, apart from setting colors and adding a few graphics. So he added a few flourishes here that I think are extremely cool, though many people probably won't notice unless they happen to be into site design stuff themselves.

But then someone comes along and kicks it to the next level. Like the new samizdata, for instance.

As I said: whoa.

The Dissident Frogman is the genius behind the samizdata redesign. Be sure to check out his dacha, too—especially the flash movies that are his contribution to the defense of the West. (It ain't for nothing that he's listed in my blogroll under la résistance.)
